Economics
Why Study Economics?
The study of economics provides a superb basis for developing the thinking skills used for becoming an informed citizen, investor, and overall decision-maker. Courses numbered 100 are comprised of three cultural diversity courses (CD) in areas of particular interest, while others provide the broadest general background and appeal.
Students planning to pursue business or an economics concentration, should make sure to complete both Econ 201 and 202 (which may be taken in any order). Together, these comprise the equivalent of first-year university-level economics training.
The economic principles and applications which we explore, are used widely throughout careers in business, teaching, and public service. Economic analysis is also instrumental for use in many graduate and professional programs which you may eventually consider. Our courses are designed to offer a variety of interesting, challenging, and eclectic paths toward the study of scarcity and choice. Enjoy your studies!
